Himachal Pradesh University courses are offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a variety of specialisations. Along with these it also provides PhD and diploma-level courses. Established in 1970, HPU Shimla is the only university to provide higher education to urban, rural and tribal areas through both regular and distance education modes. It is accredited by NAAC with an A Grade and approved by UGC. The university has 300 colleges under its affiliation.
