The university was established as Delhi Polytechnic and formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering. Delhi College of Engineering was previously affiliated to Delhi university and was later was converted into a state university named as Delhi Technological University. The institute was built with the help of Government of India. Delhi Technological University is being run under the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Innovation and Incubation Foundation of DTU

The Innovation and Incubation Foundation of the university serves as a platform for its students where they are focused towards fostering, instilling, and promoting the future of entrepreneurs to build their own startup though various helps provided to them. This basically encourages them to promote their ideas, startups, and researches into successful entrepreneurial journey.

The foundation, shortened as DTU IIF, offers opportunities to network with the entrepreneurship community.

The basic milestones set by the concerned authorities are as below:

  • Start-Up
  • Checkpoint
  • Get Incubated
  • Legality
  • Prototype
  • Scaling

Based on six above mentioned milestones, DTU IIF functions. Start-Up is the biggest step that must be taken to initiate, and this is where the formation of ideas take place. Checkpoints is meant to identify and rectify the faults in one's plan of action. This is a typical procedure where critical feedbacks of the mentors are used. Getting Incubated with the largest startup institutes is one of the major incidents that takes place during the procedure. Before staring off with any idea, the supreme must meet the Legality. Knowing about the legal aspects of forming a startup is must. Prototype primarily concludes making a blueprint of idea. Making idea physically available is what prototype means. Scaling includes helping startups attain the required resources. These resources may include from funding to interns, and from co working spaces to mentorship.

Features of DTU IIF
