The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, also known as IIM Bangalore, is an autonomous institute which was established in the year 1973 at Bannerghatta Road in South Bangalore, Karnataka. The Institute is one of the oldest management schools of India and is also considered one among the top B-schools of Asia. IIM Bangalore(IIMB) is also recognized as the Institute of National Importance by the Government of India and works under the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. The college is one of the initially established IIMs along with IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), IIM Calcutta (IIMC), IIM Lucknow (IIML), IIM Kozhikode (IIMK), and IIM Indore (IIMI).
IIM Bangalore Courses include various Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes in the field of Management. IIM Bangalore accepts CAT, GMAT and GRE Scores for admission to its Post Graduate courses. CAT (Common Admission Test) is a national level management entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a computer-based standardized test conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) which assesses the analytical writing and problem-solving abilities along with data sufficiency, logic and critical reasoning skills of the candidate. According to the placement statistics of the academic year 2018, IIM Bangalore stood consistent in terms of summer placement offers. There were 427 students participated in the placement procedure conducted at the institute and all of them ended up grabbing placement offers. The companies offered 442 offers to 427 MBA students.
“Timely resume and interview counseling, as well as high alumni participation, helped improve the summer placements this year,” said Professor Ganesh N Prabhu, IIMB Chair of Career Development Services.
The roles were offered under Strategy Consulting, Niche Consulting, Business Analytics, Investment Banking, Product Management, Capital Markets, and General Management.
