The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, also known as IIM Bangalore, is an autonomous institute which was established in the year 1973 at Bannerghatta Road in South Bangalore, Karnataka. The Institute is one of the oldest management schools of India and is also considered one among the top B-schools of Asia. IIM Bangalore(IIMB) is also recognized as the Institute of National Importance by the Government of India and works under the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. The college is one of the initially established IIMs along with IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), IIM Calcutta (IIMC), IIM Lucknow (IIML), IIM Kozhikode (IIMK), and IIM Indore (IIMI)

IIM Bangalore Courses include various Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes in the field of Management. Scholarships at IIM Bangalore:

The institute also offers scholarships based on the academic status of the student. Following are the scholarships offered by IIM Bangalore:

  • Aditya Birla Scholarship - Merit based scholarships given to 1st and 2nd year PGP students. The scholarship amount is INR1.75 Lakh per student.
  • OPJEMS Scholarship - Merit based scholarships given to 2nd year students that too to first 10 toppers of 2nd year based on their academic performance in the first year can apply for online test conducted by OP Jindal Group. The scholarship amount is INR 1.50 Lakh. 
  • Citi Women's Leader Award - This scholarship covers second year's tuition expenses. Students from the top 25% of the batch at the end of the first year are shortlisted. 
  • Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship - Means scholarship which covers tuition expenses in full. The cash prize it carries  is INR 50,000, a medallion, and a certificate. 
  • Siddhartha Padam Award - Given to PGP students on the director's merit list and get the highest CGPA in the Economics, Finance and Accounting. The cash prize of the scholarship is INR 50,000.

IIM Bangalore Courses offer various programs at the postgraduate level. These programs include Postgraduate Program in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), Postgraduate Program in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM), and Executive Postgraduate Program in Management (EPGP). There is another program offered at the research level i.e. Fellow Program in Management (FPM).

For PGP

  • Candidates seeking admission to PGP are shortlisted based on candidates' performance in CAT examination conducted at the national level.
  • Shortlisted candidates are intimated via email for Personal Interview round conducted at the institute.
  • Before getting admission, the candidates are required to appear in and qualify Written Ability Test (WAT) on any of the topics provided by IIM Bangalore.
  • After having qualified WAT, the candidates are shortlisted for interview round.

For PGPEM

IIM Bangalore Placement 2018

According to the placement statistics of the academic year 2018, IIM Bangalore stood consistent in terms of summer placement offers. There were 427 students participated in the placement procedure conducted at the institute and all of them ended up grabbing placement offers. The companies offered 442 offers to 427 MBA students.

“Timely resume and interview counseling, as well as high alumni participation, helped improve the summer placements this year,” said Professor Ganesh N Prabhu, IIMB Chair of Career Development Services.

The roles were offered under Strategy Consulting, Niche Consulting, Business Analytics, Investment Banking, Product Management, Capital Markets, and General Management.

Asia Pacific HRM Congress Awards 2017

IIMB received the 'Asia Pacific HRM Congress Awards 2017' Award for being an Organization with Innovative HR Practices, in September 2017.

Rajbhasha Award
