St. Xavier College, Mumbai is one of the prestigious colleges of India providing premier education in India. Being established in 1869, it is the first college to be affiliated to University of Mumbai. St. Xavier's College is named after the 16th Century Spanish saint Francis Xavier. St. Xavier College has a motto Provocans Ad Volandum(Encourage to Fly).

St. Xavier's College is spread over an area of about 3 acres in the South Mumbai. The college is near to the world famous Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The college is a home to about 2650 Undergraduate students and 100 Post-graduate students. St. Xavier's College has been accredited ‘A+' by NAAC(National Assessment and Accreditation Council). The college has been granted autonomous by UGC(University Grants Commision).

St. Xavier's College is built in the Indo-Gothic style infrastructure. The college has provided the student with state-of-the-art facilities like library, sports, auditorium, and many more. The St. Xavier College's campus is so beautiful that it has been used in various Indian films such as Main Hoon Na, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Lust Stories, Satyameva Jayate, etc.

The Library of the St. Xavier's is home to about 133000 books and different National and International journals. The college has different sports ground for various sports. St. Xavier's College is also famous for the various festivals like:

Important Note:

  • 50% seats of the B.A. is reserved for the Christian Minority students.
